PRISON MINISTRY
The mission of the PRAISSE prison ministry is to ENGAGE the community with men and women behind the walls. By making disciples in prison, PRAISSE EQUIPS the returning citizen with the tools to be fully restored to family, the church, the workplace, and the community. Finally, returning citizens are EMPOWERED to return to friends and families with a network for housing, job placement, and other services to maintain sobriety, reduce recidivism, and become productive citizens.
Volunteers conduct worship services and bible studies every Sunday and Wednesday.
Upon release, PRAISSE offers job placement services and has relationships with housing services, mental health providers, government agencies, and other service providers to deliver a full range of support.
Our own job placement services are interactive and complete with a curriculum to address gaps in employment history, instructions on building references, guidance on completing interviews, and direction on interview follow-up. The services are geared to address the unique needs and challenges of the returning citizen.
for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me …
Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me
